For the R360 per annum plan only: Make your R360 payment covering all your pets and  collect 2 FREE tags at Ziggy's Pet Pamporium on 7th Street, Melville by simply producing proof of payment of your renewal amount of R360. How does the QR-coded pet tag service actually work?

When you first buy the QR-coded tag, the first scan of the QR code enables you to register your contact details and upload a pic of your pet. Once that data is submitted, the service is activated. This means that the next time the tag is scanned, it opens your pet profile on our server, and enables the finder to tap on your pet's pic to automatically open a Whatsapp chat with you! Magic!

How does the WhatsApp Group help?

By creating a WhatsApp Group, and enabling pet tag users to report lost pets on that group, the effectiveness of the QR-coded pet tag service is enhanced enormously because every member of the Whatsapp group also becomes part of the search party - and they all have the ability to tap on the link shared by Admin on the group when a pet is reported lost.

Is the QR-coded pet tag service well established? The service was launched locally in 2022 and went on sale nationally through The Crazy Store network in 2023. There are over 1,500 active pet tags on our system, which we host on the secure servers managed by Afrihost.

What if a non-paying volunteer's pet goes missing - can they report it missing on the group? Yes they could, but first they would have to pay their annual subs and collect their two free tags from Ziggy's Pet Pamporium in Melville, or join as a tagless member. Then once they've registered their pet on the system, their pet's profile link would be shared on the group for all to use should they spot the lost pet.
